Solent racing starts with many new faces

The season kicked off in the Solent with the first weekend of the Warsash Spring Series. Eleven boats turned out on Saturday for 4 races in a challenging and variable wind. A number of new boats were seen on the water where a winter of hard work preparing boats was plane to see, with new and old boats mixing it up.

Simon Berry in Betty was showing great form over the weekend to challenge, Paul Hine in the recently rejuvenated Red Kite and Charlie Whelan in Breaking Bod. With Charlie winning the day on Sunday to ease ahead of the fleet.

The fleet welcomed another new female helm in Sarah Kemp sailing Great White Lies, in the end it was Lizzie Farrington who just managed to stay ahead over the weekend.

We look forward to another great weekend in two weeks time and all looks promising for the season ahead.
